Welcome to the Bradford Toy Library and Resource Centre!
We are a registered charity (charity # 503944) established in Jan 1975 and have been based in St Luke's Hospital since then. The charity employs two members of staff (Emma Fawcett and Michelle Neale).
Michelle studied at Keighley College and qualified as a nursery nurse in 1991, having been given placements in special schools for disabled children and once qualified worked at various special schools across Bradford.
Michelle has two children aged 16 and 19, one of whom has dyspraxia and is on the autistic spectrum. Her daughter also has hyper mobility syndrome and Ehrehl Danloss syndrome.
Michelle has worked at The Bradford Toy Library charity since 2005 and has helped thousands of families in this time!
In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family and enjoying trips to the cinema.

Emma went to college and training as a chef and worked in the catering industry until she had her two children. When Eleanor was born, she started a business therapy centre, offering massage, reflexology and reiki which is still ongoing and sometimes brings her skills to the mums visiting The Bradford Toy Library!
Emma started visiting the Bradford Toy Library in 1998, when her daughter was diagnosied with autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia and sensory nerve disfunction disorder. She was so impressed by the services offered that when her daughter stated school, she was offered a job here and has been here ever since! In the 20 years that have passed, she's helped thousands of families.
In addition to this, Emma and her partner are respite carers at the weekend for children with disabilities. She is also a grandmother, with two beautiful grandchildren. Her youngest grandchild has spina-bifida and hydrocephalus so she has lots of knowledge and experience (both personally and professionally) around children with disabilities.
Any free time Emma has is spent at the cinema, eating out and she is also partial to all things crafty; card making and cross stitch being particular favourites!
